Clinical Assistant Professor for Korean Language and Culture The University at Buffalo (UB) Dept. of Linguistics invites applications for a full-time, Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Korean Language program beginning in Fall 2018. The position requires teaching four Korean language and culture courses per semester (4-4 teaching load). Should the incumbent assume Directorship of the Korean Language program including providing supervision and leadership for the Korean program in curricular and program affairs and advisement of Korean undergraduate minor students, the teaching load would be three courses per semester (3-3). This position has no research obligation. UB offers a generous benefits package, and there is potential for promotion to clinical associate professor. This position is not a tenure-track position and is offered for an initial three-year term. Future reappointment will be based on satisfactory performance, department need, and available funding. The University at Buffalo's Department of Linguistics offers a variety of courses and degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level. Our undergraduate programs allow for students to specialize in the study of particular languages or in particular subfields of linguistics, such as Applied Linguistics, and the department also offers minors in Linguistics as well as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and German. Our graduate programs include a PhD program in Linguistics and a number of master's-level tracks, including an MS in Computational Linguistics and an MA in East Asian Languages and Linguistics. UB is an AA/EOE and welcomes all to apply including veterans and individuals with disabilities. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in both Korean and English; a PhD in Korean literature, culture, applied linguistics, or a related field; demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching Korean language and culture courses at all levels; and experience in curriculum and program development.
