Full-Time Lecturer Position at Rice University’s Center for Languages & Intercultural Communication located in Houston, TX.
Due to rapid growth of enrollments in Korean, Rice University's Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication (CLIC) invites applications for a second full-time appointment as Lecturer in Korean (clic.rice.edu/people.aspx).
This is a two-year, renewable appointment to begin 1 July 2016. Requirements: M.A., native or near-native ability in the Korean language, training in second language pedagogy, experience teaching at the U.S. university level, and demonstrated ability to develop innovative second language curricula. Experience with Study Abroad program development/implementation, competence to teach another language, and Ph. D. degree would be beneficial.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the implementation of an innovative, research-based curriculum; the development of a coherently articulated program of instruction across levels of competency; the design, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the syllabus and daily lessons; assisting with the development and administration of assessment instruments; and participation in professional development programs.
Salary will be commensurate with credentials, experience and demonstrated ability to develop innovative second language curricula.
